THE 2018 CBKB RATS… UPDATED Jan 16, 2018                                                                  BY JOE GAVAZZI                                                                                                              January 16, 2018                                                                              www.joegavazzisports.com                                                        winningsportsadvice@gmail.com

I have updated the RATS numbers for CBKB teams through mid-January. There are 27 teams who remain with a RATS of +11.0 or higher. To refresh your memory, RATS is the SUM of the 3 key components which make up fundamentally sound basketball teams.

1. Rebound Margin

2. Assist/TO Ration

3. Net/TO Margin

To ease your mathematically burden I will tell you that the SU record of these teams is 392-292 SU (81%) and 240-162 ATS (60%). Use them to your best advantage.

  1. Hi Joe, I know this is your business but could you educate me which numbers do you input to arrive R A T S.

I really want to learn more about your capping style, I love the way you arrived at your numbers, I just don’t know how some numbers are computed.

    1. Questions have arisen regarding a further explanation for my acronym RAT(s). To review, a measurement of a teams fundamental ability can be achieved using Rebound, Assist and Turn Over numbers. The RAT rating for each team is the sum of their Rebound Margin + Assist/TO Ratio + Net TO Margin. In using the numbers note that the higher number is better. To get a RAT line add 4 points to the rating of the home team and determine the difference between the 2 numbers.
